MOVE2LOWC
BIO-BASED FUELS
The Move2LowC project, led by A4F, Algafuel, SA, mobilizes Universities, R&D Institutes, SMEs and Large Companies to cooperate with the goal of increasing the use of aquatic biomass (microalgae), residual forest biomass and industrial effluents for the production of biofuels, in a circular economy logic. It also aims to reduce waste by reducing, reusing, recovering and recycling materials into energy sources.

MOVE2LOWC GOALS
The main goal is the production of biofuel for the aviation and heavy road transport sector of goods and passengers. This project will allow the development of a technological rationale, up to TRL 6, and a technological exploration plan that supports the investment in the production of biofuels on a commercial scale.
TOWARDS A MORE SUSTAINABLE FUTURE
When produced efficiently and sustainably, biomass energy brings numerous environmental, economic and social benefits when compared to fossil fuels.
DECARBONIZATION OF TRANSPORTS
With the growing concern and interest in decarbonising air and road transport, the future involves the development and use of solutions that bring greater positive impact at an environmental, social and economic level.
The Project
The goals of this project involve the use of biomass conversion technologies into biofuels and co-products, through biorefinery processes.
The know-how of CoLAB Bioref and the innovative dynamism of technology-based SMEs are enhanced, as technologies are developed for the production and refining of biofuels that can then be used, replicated and commercialized by the Large Companies of the Competitiveness Cluster - represented by APQuímica.
